Day 11

I’m experiencing a mentality whiplash; Avi and I traveled at incredibly fast clip the first week that I have to remind myself, especially over the course of a monthlong trip, that it’s okay to have a day where not much is done. My mindset is catching up with me in the latter half of this week. Not much happened today

We traveled off the island of Koh Phi Phi to Phuket and immediately took a van to our hotel

We checked into our room and relaxed for a bit. After some time, I decided to wander around town. Our hotel is RIGHT on the beach

I walked along a boardwalk and asked the locals where I could do laundry which took me 5 minutes in the opposite direction; a pleasant tip to a wanderer devoid of a destination. I saw a bit more of the town

I found a laundry place and decided to bring my laundry back after I relaxed by the pool. I brought a book and lounged with my feet in the water and my kindle

I came back to the room where avi was relaxing and picked up the laundry to drop off by a local cleaner. After that, I came back to the room, showered, and I’m now writing the post with about 20 minutes left until Shabbat starts

On its face, it was a pretty uneventful day. Dropped off the laundry, saw the beach, read by the pool. But we’re in PHUKET. WHAT. If you zoom out, the mediocrity metric becomes skewed far greater. And with that, we enter our second Shabbat. Can’t wait to fly to Japan on Sunday
