Day 7

To all our readers out there (all five of you) this is Avi writing day’s blog post as Yoni decided to sleep all day so we figure his day would be equivalent to a single ellipsis.
On that note, in the spirit to not make Yoni jealous, let’s dive into the best day of the trip so far!
8:30am the phone alarm rings only for it to be quickly shut off as to not wake the other twelve members in our communal room in the hostel who, just like us, only went to bed a few hour prior. As our bags were already packed and ready to go from the night before, we headed out of the room to the local port. With our trip to Koh Phangan complete, we set our sights to the next island of the week Koh Samui.
We arrived at the resort around noon and in the words of Robert Frost, “I took the road less traveled” while Yoni to the road to the bed. After checking in and setting our bags down in the room, the agenda for the day only read one item: relax.
While Huxley might have suggested some Soma and the locals might have suggested something stronger, I decided that less drastic steps needed to be taken.
Steps One: Spa
I headed to the spa where I started off by drinking some ginger tea to clear my system. Following the introductory regimen, I was kindly escorted to a room to change into a comfortable robe. Finally, the next hour included a calming yet intense massage that as a whole was incredibly relaxing.
Step Two: Beach
This stage made up the majority of the rest of the daylight hours as I sat on the beach enjoying the sounds of the rolling waves. There is something about being on a non-landlocked floating mass while gazing out at other islands that simply makes for a serene and calming environment.
After a few hours of clear waters, soft sand, and sunny skies, I headed back to the room to wake up the other co-owner and majority share holder of this blog.
We ordered our typical health dinner - pizza and mango smoothies - and by the time we had finished our last slice, the sun had long set and the hotel had quieted down.
All in all, it marked the first day of what will be a week of island hopping and relaxing on some of the most prestigious beaches the world has to offer.
