Day 3

Today was action packed. We were picked up by a van in the middle of the city and drove an hour and a half through rural Chiangmai to an elephant sanctuary
We met a mother elephant and her baby and learned how to feed them in traditional tribal shirts
We then walked to other elephants who were walking around in the fields outside with their caretaker and fed them
We then helped apply mud to the elephants and got incredibly dirty ourselves. Yes some mud and possibly poop could have gone up my nose who knows.
We then bathed off the mud in the river with the elephants
After that we sat down to eat lunch. The tour group provided freshly cooked pad Thai wrapped in banana leaves which we couldn’t eat so I heartily ate almost an entire pineapple and watermelon that were also provided.
We then walked 20 minutes through the jungle to a waterfall which had a cliff adjacent that you could jump off of.
We then got into the back of a truck and drove to the starting point for a 2 hour bamboo raft ride down a river
The van dropped us off at our hostel and after a bit of planning for the next day we went to chabad for dinner and got traditional Thai cuisine
