Day 28 - Day 1 of Ha Giang loop

We woke up around 8 AM to meet our tour guides and motorcycle drivers in the hostel lobby. After hearing about the loop and meeting everyone, we got suited up with elbow and knee guards and set off

I started off pretty tentatively, as this was my first time on a motorcycle, but after a few minutes I felt comfortable and was taking my phone out for mid ride pictures

The views got progressively better throughout the day which was hard to believe as the first was breathtaking. Luckily, every time there would be an absolutely incredible view, our group stopped at a lookout and took pictures

We stopped for lunch and had our chabad food and fruit

We continued along the route

Stopped again…

Our tour leader Igor is the only one who speaks English and has the most fun energy of anyone I’ve ever met

We also rode through some towns

We stopped at another overlook where some local village kids were playing a game. Naturally, we joined in

One of the village girls saw that I loved the game and gifted the toy to me

For about 20 minutes, rain started falling and we stopped under a villagers roof. We saw the father and son “preparing” their food

We stopped at another point where you could see into the Chinese mountains

After a long day of driving we stopped at our hostel with the craziest view

We had dinner and headed out to the town to go sing karaoke at a bar with the group

Our group is amazing. 9 other people and they’re all Israelis. Getting some great Hebrew practice in (and Aliyah tips too)
