Film review
The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)
★★★★
Most iconic door closing ending scene since the Godfather???
So smart of the Greenleaf family to hire Mr. Bookman, the library detective to solve their son's murder (that's a reference for you Seinfeld peeps)
Finally got around to watching this cuz of all the Saltburn comparisons and yeah I see where Emerald Fennel got her inspiration. Main difference being, the entire second half of this movie is the crime's retribution whereas Saltburn devotes only a portion of its time to it. Also, this script felt more focused.
Matt Damon had some really great acting scenes here - main one that stuck out is that last confrontation with Mange. Damn.
Im starting a petition to set every movie in Italy. Cuz why not.
(Oh and always happy to see me some P.S. Hoffman on screen)
