Film review
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
★★★★
I started the book 4 days ago and finished it this morning and watched the movie right away. The book was fantastic. I credibly gripping, detailed, thorough, and felt just all encompassing. Like no details were left out.
The movie followed the book as much as it could in 2 and a half hours, and I do appreciate how true it stayed to the source material, but I also feel like certain plot points were half baked. Had I not read the book, I don't know if I would have understood/believed certain things in the movie. Like the relationship between Salander and Blomvkist or the Wennerstrom story. Fincher did a great job with this - his movies are always tight and you can tell they were directed by a master. But, and maybe this is just because I was coming off the book, this felt half as good as the book. I guess it's just true that Books are always better than the movie.
