Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)

This was surprisingly good.
I haven't seen a marvel movie in theaters since the last spiderman because even just from trailers alone, all the new marvel projects looked like hot CGI garbage and I couldn't bring myself to support it in theaters. Mix that with not keeping up with shows because it started all feeling like a chore and cheap fan pandering and you get a total check out from the MCU. But Spiderman's spiderman so of course I'll go
There was actual cinematography occasionally in this. Actual lighting. Shots sometimes looked real and effortful! Crazy that that's my bar but that's where we're at with these projects.
But, aside from the mandatory tie ins to other marvel projects and set ups for future movies, there was an actual conflict with an actual plot. And even though I do think tobeys spiderman 2 still handled the conflict of Peter vs Spiderman identity crisis better, this one still decided to take it on and it was pretty great.
The swinging scenes and fight scenes are great (Jackie chan stunt team legendary) and Tom Holland is probably my favorite Spidey.
These movies still feel like carnival rides rather than actual movies, but every once in a while it's fun to ride the rides.
