Comrades, Almost a Love Story (1996)

Like a mix of When Harry Met Sally, Lost in Translation, Before Sunrise, Brighter Summer Day, etc.
Idk how to explain it but every so often there would be a scene, or a line, or a camera move, or a fade dissolve, or a certain lighting exposure and it just reminded me of different elements of movies that I love.
Really comforting, cute watch with random attempts at deeper plot elements that kinda fall short but hey when you get a romance with maggie cheung you don't complain.
