Obsession (2025)

★★★★½

I don't usually do horror. But because of the sensations that they've become, I watched backrooms alone in the theater, took a little break, and went back with family to see Obsession. Thank gd I saw obsession with other people. And a packed theater!
Genuinely scary movie. There were a couple of crazy jump scares, but Indes performance is so unsettling that I mainly just dreaded seeing her on screen. I knew it would get under my skin everytime. I simultaneously wanted to see more and see her play with the character and also just wanted the movie to end so I could leave.
A really great premise and script and perfectly directed. Nothing felt out of place or unnecessary. Such a bold, self assured feature film debut for a 26 year old and deserves all the praise and box office success it's been getting.
But I never want to see it again.
