Day 30 - 3rd day of Ha Giang Loop and leaving

We woke up to rain. Igor decided to wait a little so we ended up departing around 10:30

Our first stop was a waterfall

I decided to do some cliff jumps

We continued along our way and found our road blocked by a flood from the amount of rain over the past two days

We met some villagers as we waited. I thought about one of my favorite quotes as we journeyed through villages and saw children of all ages walking the hills gathering fruits and shepherding their flocks: I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops."--Stephen Jay Gould

Who knows the potential of all the people we passed. I thought about their quality of life and how fortunate we are to only be passing through, only a day away from our flight back to America where we’ll be living comfortably in Manhattan. But then again, they could be happier overall. Who knows?

We put on rain attire to brave the weather

On the last stop before returning to Hanoi we tried some fresh sugar cane juice

We returned back to the hostel after 3 days and said our goodbyes to our drivers and the group

After waiting for a few hours, we got onto a sleeper bus to take us to the Hanoi airport. We have a long journey ahead of us :

6 hour bus

Wait in the airport for 5 hours
8 hour flight
12 hour layover in Qatar
15 hour flight back to america
