TÁR (2022)

If all the drama and plot was cut out and I was just left with the conducting bits I would have been happy. The music was, thankfully, a main focus of the film. Weirdly though, even though the movie points out it’s ineffable nature, it was the one part of the movie I understood most. The last 30 minutes eluded me; I’m not sure I fully understood the plot or the messages field was trying to give over. I felt unsettled throughout the movie but I couldn’t place exactly why (which is exactly what I think field intended). I’m going to be thinking about this for a while. Oh and one of the best performances I’ve ever seen by cate blanchett
