The Red Shoes (1948)

The production design was by far the best part as well as the initial dance sequence. 
Otherwise I wasn’t SO intrigued by the plot and didn’t seem like the movie was either - there was barely a narrative thread pulling the plot together; things just happened. 
Was definitely ahead of its time and worth seeing
