Silence (2016)

Powerful, moving, heart wrenching stuff. I still have to wrap ,y head around Scorsese’s thesis here. The dedication and servitude of the faithful? The hopelessness and pointlessness in faith itself? Mockery or praise of belief? 
Lots to think about and chew on but obviously expertly crafted from Scorsese and didn’t feel the runtime at all. I was worried he’d make some of the story “too Hollywood” and lighten up some of the darker themes and experiences but it really was dark and challenging.
