WOW. I went into this movie because of all the AI stuff that's happening in the world. I'd heard really good things about it and I knew it was finally time to watch. I went in expecting to see how a person connected with a computer and all the dangers of that relationship. And although that definitely was a part of the movie, it was overshadowed by the depth of the human relationships in the movie. I learned so much about human relationships through his relationship with Samantha. Maybe that's me missing the point but I like to think that that's what Spike Jonze was trying to do - demystify and deromanticize the concept of a romantic relationship by using an AI that could emulate a relationship. Theo and Samantha go through the entire course of a normal relationship. Although the ending of it was a bit exaggerated, Theo's ex-wife ultimately becomes the stand in for Samantha; he learns to deal with his human relationships and finally lets go and says good bye to her. This movie taught me so much about humanity and relationships and it was perfectly done. Seriously. Jouaqin was incredible. The simple piano scores were beautiful. The cinematography - DANG; talk about Bokeh and lighting wow. And the script was superb. Also the futuristic city and set/prop design was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and can't wait to watch again.
