Hamnet (2025)

Liked it but unfortunately didn't love it
A lot of time was devoted in the beginning to Agnes' character and how her and william got together but I feel like we didn't spend enough time with the family to care about them as much as the film wanted us to. The relationship between Shakespeare and his son especially; there were maybe 3 scenes of them two together showing how close they were. I loved the cinematography and production design and yes the acting was amazing but I feel like it's the common movie goers version of a masterpiece which is why the internets freaking out about it. It had all the ingredients to be a masters but it fell short for me unfortunately. I do have to rewatch to see if maybe I'm missing something.
