Before Sunrise (1995)
★★★★★
I met the first girl I had a serious relationship with while on a trip to Vienna. I hadn’t seen this movie at the time, but later on, after watching Before Sunrise for the first time, I resonated with the magic this movie depicts. The magic of meeting a stranger and getting to know them. Of spending time with the backdrop of a beautiful, foreign European country and feeling time slip away(or of there being no concept of time at all). Of having playful, deep conversations and never feeling a dull moment.
This movie will always mean a lot to me. I think it’s the hopeless romantic cinephiles national anthem. It’s the reality that so many dreamers hope for, crystallized in a sub 2 hour runtime. It’s refreshing watching two people fall in love (as incompatible and annoying as my sister thinks they are).
All time movie for me
